All eyes were on the 2026 Emmy Awards red carpet on Monday night.
Stars gathered at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles to celebrate the best television of the year, from "The Pitt" to "Hacks."
Attendees, including Selena Gomez and Dan Levy, arrived in glitzy outfits, earning spots on the best-dressed list.
Not every look nailed the assignment, though. Here are the outfits that missed the mark.
Nicole Kidman's look had potential, but fell flat.
Her white Chanel dress fit her perfectly, with a corseted bodice and off-the-shoulder feathered sleeves. Unfortunately, though, it was too short and would have looked better as a gown. She also should have swapped her black pumps for strappy heeled sandals.
Kidman was both a presenter and nominee at this year's event.
Shailene Woodley's colorful outfit had too many contrasting elements.
She wore Balenciaga in the form of oversize trousers embellished with gold beads, a loose-fitting blue tank top with a plunging neckline, burgundy leather gloves, and a colorful necklace.
The 2026 Emmy winner, who took home the outstanding guest actress in a drama series award, should have removed the latter two pieces and worn a more form-fitting top.
Keri Russell could have been a best-dressed attendee with some tweaks.
Russell chose a black leather dress from Khaite for the Emmys, where she was nominated for outstanding lead actress in a drama series for her performance in "The Diplomat."
The dress had pretty elements, like the halter neckline and low back. However, the bodice shape didn't fit quite right, and the dress felt a bit simple overall.
Less texture on the waist and bolder accessories could have made the dress stand out more.
Chase Infiniti wore a burgundy gown that overwhelmed her.
Her strapless Louis Vuitton gown was form-fitting and flared into a full skirt at the knees. It was also covered in spherical beads from top to bottom.
Though the color looked nice on Infiniti, who was nominated in the outstanding lead actress in a drama series category, the material was too strong for her petite frame.
Different pants could have made all the difference for Michael Urie.
Urie wore a black Christian Siriano tuxedo. The look had some traditional elements, like a cropped jacket, a bow tie, and a cummerbund.
However, he paired it with silky pants that ballooned around him. The pants, unfortunately, overshadowed the rest of the look, making the whole outfit feel imbalanced.
Slimmer-fitting pants would have been a better choice for Urie, who was nominated for outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series for "Shrinking."
Rachel Sennott wore a hot-pink gown that looked incomplete.
The pleated gown was semi-sheer, revealing her undergarments. As a result, the design looked more unfinished than daring on the Emmys presenter.
Her half-up, half-down hairstyle was also a bit too casual for the red-carpet event.
Lisa Ann Walter's voluminous dress might have worked better in a different color.
Walter, who stars in "Abbott Elementary," which was nominated for outstanding comedy series, wore a Christian Siriano gown to the 2026 Emmys.
The gown was ruched throughout the bodice, flowed into a mermaid skirt, and had massive detached tulle sleeves that poofed around her.
The dress felt too heavy because of both the dark color and the plethora of fabric. A lighter color or no sleeves could have improved the look.
Riz Ahmed's suit was too oversized.
Ahmed arrived at the Emmys in a powder-blue suit. Although there were many oversized suits at the event, Ahmed's didn't quite work because it had no shape. It seemed to float around him, and his pants were too long.
The look might have worked better if his jacket had been slightly more fitted.
Ahmed was nominated for outstanding lead actor in a limited or anthology series or movie for "Bait."
Lisa Kudrow's black jacket felt unnecessary with her look.
Kudrow, who was nominated for outstanding lead actress in a comedy series for "The Comeback," arrived in a black Celine gown. The dress had a straight neckline and a full skirt, and she wore a cropped tuxedo-style jacket atop it.
Although both the jacket and dress were pretty, they didn't work together. The dress also wasn't fitted in the bodice, overwhelming Kudrow's frame.
If Kudrow ditched the jacket, the dress may have stood out more.
