If you were locked into the NBA Finals over the weekend, you might have missed another big event in New York City.
The Tribeca Film Festival was underway in Manhattan between June 3 and June 14. Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau made their red-carpet couple debut as they arrived, and artists like Alicia Keys performed inside.
There was also plenty of fashion to appreciate — and question — across the red carpet. These are the best and worst looks we saw throughout the event.
Keke Palmer looked chic and whimsical.
She attended Chanel's Tribeca Festival Artists Dinner in a two-piece set from the French fashion house.
Made from silk, her outfit comprised a cropped jacket and a knee-length skirt, both covered in a dog print and lined with white ruffles.
The pieces were designed for Chanel's Métiers d'art 2026 collection, and they looked exceptional on Palmer at the film festival dinner.
Alison Brie should have picked a different dress.
The "Masters of the Universe" star walked the red carpet in a sleeveless design from Khaite's Resort 2025 collection.
Though Brie looked pretty with rosy makeup and a straight hairstyle, her dress didn't complement her usually striking style.
It was too light in color, and its delicate fabric wrinkled easily.
Justin Trudeau and Katy Perry looked glamorous as they walked the red carpet side by side.
While the former Canadian prime minister sported a perfectly tailored suit, Perry opted for a dramatic white gown.
The archival Lanvin piece was ruched at the waist and adorned with sphere embellishments, adding a fun edge. Perry wore it with white pointed pumps and an updo hairstyle.
Their outfits suited each other's looks and were the ideal choices for the couple's red-carpet debut.
Nina Dobrev's white dress was underwhelming.
Adam Lippes designed her look, which was sleeveless, made of silk, and featured a neckline just deep enough to reveal a layer of black lace.
Compared to other celebrity outfits at the festival, Dobrev's didn't stand out.
It might have worked better if it had been worn with statement accessories or if her hair had been styled in old-Hollywood waves.
Colman Domingo proved that summer style can be sharp.
The "Michael" actor posed on the Tribeca Film Festival red carpet in a two-piece outfit and memorable accessories.
His look comprised white pants, a striped top he wore mostly unbuttoned, and a black-and-white tie worn as a belt.
Domingo also wore white loafers, a charm necklace, and aviator sunglasses.
Jeremy Strong seemed underdressed for the festival.
He walked the red carpet in brown trousers, a long-sleeved shirt in a lighter shade, a brown baseball cap, and what looked like hiking sneakers.
The outfit was too casual to look appropriate on a red carpet.
Emilia Clarke took a fashion risk, and it worked for her.
She was photographed at the festival wearing a draped, asymmetrical gown in vibrant orange.
The color of Clarke's dress was stunning and stood out on the red carpet. She also completed the look perfectly with white heels and a short bob hairstyle.
